This isn't exactly a "recipe" but it really turns out cute~

Fill clear plastic gloves with popped corn with a candy corn at the fingertip for the fingernail.  Tie closed with a piece of raffia. May attach a plastic spider ring.

Also fill a plastic glove with water, freeze and then peel off the glove. Float these "hands" in your Halloween punchbowl!

Happy halloween!

Set the mood for a sensational Halloween party with these quick decorating ideas that turn your home into a haunted mansion.

Skeleton Greetings
Try sitting a skeleton in your foyer to greet guests and trick-or-treaters. Sit a plate of plastic bugs on a tray next to him and perhaps a smaller skeleton. You may want to add a sign that says -- "Bone Appetite!" . A child's high chair works well because the tray of bugs sits directly in front of the skeleton. And the safety belt keeps the
skeleton upright.

A Headless Tale
If you have a dining room table that expands, with a leaf insert, you're in luck. This type of table allows for some Halloween fun. Simply open the table, but don't insert the extra leaf. Cover the table with a paper or old tablecloth that drapes to the floor. Cut a hole large enough to fit a human head. Have your children take turns under the table as its centerpiece. The options are limitless, so dress your head in a creative, ugly, scary disguise. Have the candy bowl sitting on the table so the trick-or-treaters are forced to see the head. Moving slightly will enhance the desired result. This is a good job for an older child who may have outgrown trick-or-treating, but not the Halloween spirit.  Here’s another way to dress up the table. Buy some inexpensive chicken livers, pigs feet, calves brains (you get the picture), and put them in jars. Float the "body parts" in colored water and place the jars on the table. If that’s a little too ghoulish, poke around novelty shops for other items more suitable.

Handy Candy
To create a special prop for passing out treats, cut a hole in a plastic bowl. Tape a glove to the bottom and place your hand in the glove. Fill the bowl with candy for trick-or-treaters. Grab at little hands as they reach for candy.

Dead Body Trick
Stuff a pair of old pants to the knees and attach boots to the cuffs. Place the pants in a trunk and close the top with the legs hanging out. It looks like there is a body inside the trunk.

Cover and set aside. Cook the beans in a saucepan on low heat, stirring occasionally. when the beans are hot, gently combine them with the ground beef in a clean bowl. To build the burrito beaks: Set one tortilla on a dinner plate. Spoon an approximately one and one half inch wide strip of guacamole dip (rancid mucus) down the center of each tortilla. On top of that, spoon a strip of sour cream (fresh mucus), a strip of Tightly fold the left and right sides of the tortilla over your ingredients, then tuck the lower third of the whole burrito under itself, making a nose shape. Use a knife to cut out two large holes for nostrils. Gently squeeze.  Sicko serving suggestion: Instead of napkins, set each guest's place with an individual size packet of facial tissues.

Slab O Scabs

12  To 16 raisins
2 slices Bread
Butter or margarine
Seedless berry jam

Tear raisins into variously sized scab like pieces and set aside. Toast bread until golden brown. Carefully place hot toast on a plate. Spread each slice of toast first with butter and then with jam. Artfully arrange scabs on jam and eat. Serves 1 wounded worshiper. Sicko serving suggestion: Surreptitiously place a raisin scab on the gauze part of a sterile, non-medicated, bandage and apply it to the clean, dry appendage of your choice. Then tell your intended victim that you're so hungry you could eat a scab.  Whip off your bandage and chow down.

 Ghost Suckers

Use these for party favors, hanging them from the ceiling until ready to distribuate to your guests.

Take a round-headed lollipop. Lay the head in the center of a white handkerchief, facial tissue, or cloth square. Gather the handkerchief down  around the stick and tie tightly just below the head with a rubber band,  twist-tie, or string. Add 2 black dots for eyes.

You can also use these ghosts as an invitation to your party. Write the  party date and location around the outside of the handkerchief before  making the ghosts. If you plan to mail them, you might want to use flat
 round lollipops and padded envelopes.

 Witches Hats

You will need Keebler® fudge striped cookies, Hershey® Kisses and a tube of  orange decorator icing. Turn cookies upside down so that the chocolate side  is up. Use the orange decorator icing to pipe around the hole in the center  of each cooke. Place an unwrapped Kiss on the icing circle. Finish by
piping around the base of the kiss and drawing a little bow. (Thanks to  Kathy Brown for this suggestion.)

  Green Slime

Serve soft-set lime gelatin out of a bowl.   Don't cut it nicely - slop it out.

  Eyeballs

Make Rice Krispie® Treats. The directions are on the cereal box. Form the into balls, about 1 or 2 inches across. Add a pastel M&M® or other small  round candy for the iris and dot the candy with frosting or gel for the pupil. A big hit with the younger crowd!

Ghost Hand Punch Buy some new latex gloves. Wash one out and fill with  water. Fasten the arm closed with a twist-tie or rubberband. Freeze it.  Float it in the punch before serving.

Chocolate Spiders (These are wonderful!  signed, Diane)

You Need:

- 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 5-1/4 oz. mini marshmallows (half a bag)
- waxed paper
- thin licorice whips ( black, brown or purple)

Recipe:
Melt chocolate in either microwave or double boiler until just melted. Stir until smooth. Add marshmallows. Place by spoonfuls on waxed paper. Decorate with licorice "legs". Let dry.

Try variety. Add raisins or nuts or both, even m&m's work well. Try different kinds of spider legs too. Potato Sticks or pretzel sticks. Think of even more. Be creative and have fun. Also spiders set much faster if put in the freezer for just a few minutes.

Makes about 16 spiders.

Spider Cake - (Fun for a kids Halloween party)

Prepare a cake mix in the usual way, but bake it in 2 round metal bowls – 1 larger than the other.  The larger bowl will be the "body", the smaller bowl will be the "head".  Cool and unmold.  Cut the larger one
in half, horizontally.  Carefully scoop out a cavity in each half.  Fill with well-whipped, set green JELLO, and reassemble the halves.  Frost with black icing, then arrange on a serving platter.  Use black licorice
sticks as legs.  Use 2 large green gumdrops for the "eyes".  When the cake is cut into, it spurts out green glop, just like a real spider would if you stepped on it.

Black Cat Cookies - (Makes about 4 l/2 dozen cookies).

1 c chunky style peanut butter
1/3 c water
2 eggs
1 pkg chocolate cake mix
For Decoration: M&M's plain chocolate candy and red hots

Beat together the peanut butter, eggs and water.  Gradually add the cake mix and mix well.  Form dough into 1-inch balls.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten balls with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.  Pinch
out 2 ears at top of cookie.  Add M&M's for the eyes and red hots for the nose.  Press fork into dough to form whiskers.  Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Hints
These are easier to cut when they are at room temperature.  Also score the top of the chocolate first before cutting all the way through.  Wipe knife clean after each cut.  Also, they don't need to be kept in the
refrigerator.  Store in an air tight container.

Here is a healthy Halloween treat idea I got out of the Family Fun Magazine.

Spider Cups

Cut up fresh fruit.  Put in a plastic marguarita or champagne glass.  Add a plastic spider ring to the top of the fruit in each glass.  Then wrap tightly with saran wrap.  My kids thought it was cool, and a change
from the sweet treats.
