| Plaque:
Roll out a piece
of fondant or gumpaste large enough to completely cover the cardboard circle
and enable the sides of the circle to also be covered with some excess
that can be folded over to the back of the circle. Place the a cardboard
circle on top of the fondant or gumpaste and flip over the cardboard circle.
Lay these items onto the work surface enabling the top cardboard to be
placed downward touching the work surface. Gently, scrape off the
excess fondant or gumpaste. Life these items all at once and carefully
turn them over so that the uncovered "top" cardboard is upward, again.
Remove this uncovered cardboard. Place the bottom of the covered
circle onto the work surface.
Use the shell-like
tool that has ridges and press down into the fondant/gumpaste at the inside,
outter edge of the plaque. (See picture). Use impression tools
and mini petal cutters or heart cutters to create a design all around the
"inner edge" of the shell impression.
Take a round, scalloped
cutter and place it in the center of the fondant/gumpaste. Press
down to make a cut into the fondant/gumpaste. Take a curved tool
and place the tip of the curve underneath a scallop to cut into and lift
up the scallop (see picture). Now, Take the foot tool and gently
create the ruffle by pressing the tool downward into the clay and
then outward toward the edge of the clay, and finally, off the edge of
the clay. Use a metal, cuticle pusher to smooth the section underneath
the ruffled scallop. Repeat the method until there is a ruffle on
each of the scallops. At the inward portion of the ruffle use a needle-like,
pointed tool to create the stitches all around the inside, edge of the
ruffles. Use impressions tools to create a design all around the
inside portion of the ruffle which would be between the center of the plaque
and the stitches on the plaque.
Place the dried
bells onto the plaque and glue into place with a dab of royal icing.
Make a bow of bridal ribbon and glue into place. Use some royal icing
to glue the flowers into place. Glue a ribbon around the outter edge
of the covered, cardboard circle. |
