Love Puppy Cake Instructions

Dog was piped in stages on a separate foil cardboard and dried for a week.

An egg shaped foam was cut off on the narrow end and a foam ball was cut and attached to the egg with toothpicks and icing.  Jason covered the body with #16 tube stars.  Then he built icing for the dogs haunches before covering with stars.  The front legs are popsicle sticks covered with brown stars on the back and allowed to dry slightly before attaching to body and covering the front with brown and white stars.

Feet were piped with #10 or #12 tube.  White stripe on upper face was piped with #12 tube.  Lower jaw was piped with #10.  Eyes were piped on wax paper with #12 tube and let dry.  Then eyes were painted with brown and black food color pens, practicing first on extra piped eyes.  Snout was piped in 2 large shells with #12.  Brown #16 stars were piped on head up to ear position.  Ears were cardboard cut out with a pattern (leaving a longer point to go in hear), then lower side spread with icing and inserted in head.   Stars piped on top of head then ears.

After snout and chin were dry it was decided it was too flat so Jason built another layer.

Red fondant was rolled out and cut with bow cookie cutter and attached with icing.  After snout dried, Jason piped #10 tube black nose.  Jason tilted the dried dog on foam on its nose and removed cardboard, then peeled off foil and piped icing on the bottom of the dog to attach it to cake.

#352 bottom grass border. #16 tube Shell top border.

Red marzipan hearts were cut out with cookie cutter and placed onto cake.

Stencil was used to mark words with toothpick before piping stars.
