| Wrap the doll's
body in saran and place in the center of a bundt cake. Wrap the doll's
hair in saran and leave in place until the decorating is completed.
Pieces of cake can be used to fill in the dress by using frosting to "glue"
the pieces together. Buttercream frosting can also be used to fill
in the shape of the dress. Use a toothpick to lightly mark the scallops
on the iced cake. Use a 104 tip and start at the bottom of the cake
and work upwards. A larger cake is sometimes needed if more cake
servings are desired. Note: The "little one" might not want
to cut into Barbie's lovely dress.
Rollers, brush
and mirrors on the side of the sheet cake were made using chocopaste which
is a mixture of warm glucose and melted coating. Use one part glucose
to two parts melted coating (chocolate compound). Cool the chocopaste
and knead. Melted, white chocolate compound that is made into the
chocopaste, can have food coloring (oil based) added to it to create the
desired colors |
