Keepsake cakes is an idea
of Diane's to have a remembrance of the special occasion to keep as a "keepsake".
Rolled fondant is used to
cover the styrofoam fake cake.
Impressions are used on the
above cakes to create the designs.
The Santa Moon design is
made by pressing a foam stamp into the fondant.
The different sections are
handmolded to create the "fill-in" method.
The fondant holly and berries
are added to the top for a nice touch to the design. Petal
dusts are used to tint.
The Santa hat, holly and
berries are made from colored fondant.
Peqrl dust or satin dusts
are used to create the "Satin-look".
Diane used her wooden tool
to create the impression border.
"L ove" is created
by poking the point end of a tool into the fondant. The pointed end
of a round toothpick may also be used.
A mini heart-shaped cutter
is pressed down into the fondat to create the heart. |
