Cut out the
bride and groom using mini gingerbread cutters. Use the foot tool
and Diane's "Puffed Embroidery" technique by pressing the tip of the foot
tool into each area where the lines would be drawn if this was a sketch
on paper. To create the ruffles, use the curved tool that has a sharp
point and "dig into" that area where the ruffle would be formed.
Example: The area between the hand and the beginning of the ruffle.
Place the tip of the foot tool at the uppermost part of the ruffle and
gently press down and outward toward the beginning of the edge of the ruffle.
And, then continue right off the edge of the beginning of the ruffle.
Make the ruffle around the neck of the bride and at the bottom areas of
the dress in the same manner. Use the foot tool to make the "line"
where the hair and face meets. Use the curve tool to create the mount.
Use a toothpick to make the eyes. Make the "buttons" using a toothpick.
Create the ruffles around the "buttons" using the curved tool and the foot
tool and described, above. Make a veil of fairly, thinned, rolled-out
gum paste. Glue in place with a dab of water or gum arabic that has
been mixed with water ( 1/3 part gum arabic to 2/3 part water).
Create the
features on the groom in the same manner as the bride. Note:
The bow is made in the same manner as the ruffle. Then, tint the
various sections with petal dusts. If a powder food color is used,
just mix it with corn starch. |
